26.2 miles…on foot?

I joined Team in Training last week and have committed to running White Rock Marathon in December 13th. I have been running with the intent of doing a marathon for a couple months. I have never run further than 13 miles, which was quite difficult and up until a few weeks ago had never run for 4 to 5 days a week with consistency. Running the marathon will be a challenge.

Here is a little bit about Team in Training

TNT isthe world’s largest charity sports training program. They provide you with training and support so that you can achieve your athletic goals. In turn the athlete trains and raises money to fund The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

If you are interested supporting me in my journey to run a marathon but more importantly funding cancer research follow this FUND TNT LINK  Below you will find a list of what your donation can do.

What can a donation of $25, $50, $100, or more really do?
As a Team In Training participant, you are continuously asking for donations. To help you collect donations, and to help your donors fully understand the impact their donation will have, please share the following information with them:

A donation of $25 provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about their treatment options.

A donation of $50 makes a Family Support group possible with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.

A donation of $100 equals 10 Kaiser visit co-pays or can supply laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out their search for cures.

A donation of $300 equals parking for 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments at UCLA/Children’s Hospital.

A donation of $400 is transportation for one out-of-state bone marrow donor or covers the 20% co-pay on a month’s supply of Gleevec.

A donation of $500 allows the Patient Financial Aid program to reimburse up to $500 per year to help cover costs of transportation, drugs and various treatments not covered by insurance.

Not exactly what Mr. Cash had in mind when he sung Man in Black. The band The Better Death has other ideas on what a man wears. Here are a few picks from yesterdays shoot.

Thanks Sean for working the pink slippers and the laughter!

Here is an image from one of my all time favorite photographers. This guy has inspired every image I’ve ever taken.

Eggleston speaks again and again of the ‘democratic camera’ which considers every object worthy of depiction. Naturally, this seemingly impersonal way of seeing things makes no distinction between ‘beautiful’ and ‘ugly’. In other words, William Eggleston does not operate with the usual visual hierarchies, but rather accepts those motifs which illustrate his concept correctly.

William Eggleston once said: ‘I am at war with the obvious.’

Did a shoot last week for a UNT student. His campaign was for Garmin. Here are a couple of the shots. I am looking forward to seeing the final ads. The pencils looked cool.

I myself have been running like crazy trying to work off all those #3 fat grams.
